Wetlands are areas where water covers the soil, or is present either at or near the surface of the soil all year or for varying periods of time during the year, including during the growing season. Floods occur when an overflow of water submerges land that is usually dry.
After a wetland specialist has identified and marked a wetland area, a licensed land surveying will locate and map the wetlands in accordance to local requirements.
A flood elevation certificate is a document needed to verity your property's elevation relative to estimated height floodwaters could reach in the event of a major flood, especially in high risk zones.
